How Natural Science Supports Natural Law: Oxytocin, Love, and Other Drugs

Dr. William Stigall is a pediatric critical care physician and bioethicist. He graduated with a BBA in Business Honors from the University of Texas, obtained his MD from the UT Southwestern Medical Center, and a MA in Philosophy from the University of Dallas. Dr. Stigall currently practices at Cook Children’s Medical Center and teaches bioethics at the University of Dallas. 

Dr. Stigall will discuss how the truths of science support a Catholic natural law understanding of sexual morality. In particular, he will discuss the extraordinary hormone oxytocin that underlies and supports long lasting monogamous sexual relationships. He will also discuss scientific data showing how injurious non-monogamous relationships are for those involved and their communities at large.
