This was a series of four breakfast meetings, led by Dr. Gerald Wegemer. The $35 fee included a light breakfast at each meeting, printed materials, and a copy of Robert Bolt's Man for All Seasons.
The four topics:
April 2: Thomas More's London; Introduction: A slide presentation showing the major places and events in the life of St. Thomas More and an introduction to what is available about More.
April 9: The Earliest Biographies of St. Thomas MOre: More's great friend Erasmu8s and MOre's son-in-law William Roper (a lawyer) wrote two of the most descriptive and best-loved accounts about More's famiy and professional life.
April 16: A View of More One Generation Later: No one less renowned than William Shakespeare dared to wr5ite about More in a time that More's writings were banned from England. You will be surprised by the striking portrayal Shakespeare gives.
April 23: A 20th Century View of MOre: Robert Bolt's famous play became an immediate box-office success. Shortly afterwards, Paul Schoefield starred in the movie version that one four academy awards.
